Our Story

At C&C Translation & Interpretation, our work is built on a simple belief: everyone deserves to be understood.

Language has always been at the center of who we are. As language learners, educators, interpreters, and members of multilingual communities, we have experienced firsthand both the challenges and the opportunities that come with communicating across cultures.

We understand what it feels like to search for the right words, navigate unfamiliar systems, and rely on someone who can help bridge the gap between languages.

Those experiences shaped C&C. We created this company not only to provide accurate language services, but to help people feel confident, respected, and understood during some of the most important moments of their lives.

Whether we are interpreting in a courtroom, translating an important document, supporting a medical conversation, or helping a business communicate across cultures, our purpose remains the same:

Meet the People Behind C&C

The strength of C&C comes from people who believe in the power of communication. Our team brings together decades of experience in interpreting, translation, education, design, and cross-cultural communication.

Craig

Co-Owner & Director of Linguist Operations

Craig has dedicated more than 25 years to helping people communicate across languages and cultures. His career has taken him from classrooms in Venezuela to courtrooms, hospitals, government settings, conferences, and educational institutions throughout the United States and abroad.

Craig began his language career teaching English as a Second Language in Barquisimeto, Venezuela. This experience sparked a lifelong passion for language education and intercultural communication.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Principles and Methods of Language Education, is TESOL certified, and completed advanced training at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Interpreting and Translating in Education and Interpreting for Special Education.

His professional experience includes legal interpreting in immigration courts, trials, depositions, and correctional settings, as well as medical interpreting with specialized training in mental health. He is also an experienced conference interpreter, providing language services in professional, governmental, and educational environments.

Beyond interpreting, Craig is passionate about mentoring and education. He has trained aspiring interpreters at Newport Community School in Rhode Island and founded ProStart, a program designed to help interpreters develop the professional skills needed to build successful careers.

Through every role he has held—as interpreter, educator, mentor, and speaker—Craig has remained committed to one goal: helping people understand one another.

Outside of work, Craig enjoys volunteering, cooking (and eating!), exploring beaches, and discovering new cultures through travel.

Carolina

Co-Owner & Creative Director

Carolina brings creativity, cultural insight, and a global perspective to C&C. Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, Carolina is a multilingual creative professional specializing in design, marketing, and cross-cultural communication.

Fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Cape Verdean Creole (Kabuverdianu), she understands firsthand how language and culture shape the way people connect.

Her academic journey includes studies at institutions such as the University of Cambridge, New York College, Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and Boston University, where she developed her skills in communication, design, and creative expression.

Carolina’s professional experience includes proofreading, editing, voice-over work, and video production, allowing her to contribute a unique creative perspective to multilingual communication projects.

At C&C, she helps shape the company’s visual identity and ensures that every interaction reflects the professionalism, warmth, and cultural awareness that define the organization.

Committed to serving others, Carolina is passionate about using creativity and communication to help people overcome barriers and build meaningful connections.

Outside of work, she enjoys drawing, painting, and traveling throughout the United States, South America, the Caribbean, and Africa—experiences that continue to inspire her creativity and appreciation for diverse cultures.
